The camera o ers a choice of program AE (P), shutter-priority AE (S), aperture-priority AE (A), and
manual exposure (M) modes.

To allow the camera to adjust both shutter speed and aperture for opti-
mal exposure, set shutter speed and aperture to A. P will appear in the
display.
Q If the subject is outside the metering range of the camera, the shutter speed
and aperture displays will show “– – –”.

If desired, you can rotate the front command dial to select other combinations of
shutter speed and aperture without altering exposure (program shift). The new
values for shutter speed and aperture are shown in yellow. Program shift is not
available if the attached  ash supports TTL auto, AUTO is selected for U DYNAM-
IC RANGE in the shooting menu (P 79), or the sensitivity dial is rotated to A (P 50).
