The camera is on
but does not
respond.
Wait for recording to end.
If the problem persists, turn the camera off. If the camera does
not turn off, remove and reinsert the battery or batteries or, if
you are using an AC adapter, disconnect and reconnect the AC
adapter.
Note that although any data currently being recorded will be
lost, data that have already been recorded will not be affected
by removing or disconnecting the power source.

be charged by
connecting the
camera to a
computer.
•Off is selected for Charge by computer in the setup menu.
When charging by connecting the camera to a computer,
battery charging stops when the camera is turned off.
When charging by connecting the camera to a computer,
battery charging stops when the computer is suspended
(sleeping), and the camera may turn off.
Depending upon computer specifications, settings, and status,
charging the battery inserted in the camera may not be
possible via computer connection.

Camera cannot be
turned on.
Battery is exhausted.
The camera does not turn on while the Charging AC Adapter is
connected to it even when you press the power switch. Press
and hold the c (playback) button to turn on the camera in
playback mode. However, shooting is not possible.

Camera turns off
without warning.
Battery is exhausted.
If no operations are performed for a while, camera has turned
off automatically by auto off to save power.
The camera turns off if the Charging AC Adapter is connected
while the camera is on.
The camera turns off if the USB cable connecting the camera
to a computer or printer is disconnected. Reconnect the USB
cable.
Inside of the camera has become hot. Leave the camera off
until the inside of the camera has cooled.
At low temperatures, the camera and the battery may not
function normally.
