The Basics of Shooting and Playback
Step 1 Turn the Camera On
1 Open the monitor and remove the lens cap.
See “Opening and Adjusting the Angle of the Monitor“ (A7) for more information.
2 Press the power switch to turn on
the camera.
If you are turning the camera on for
the first time, see “Setting the Display
Language, Date, and Time” (A24).
The lens extends, and the monitor is
turned on.
3 Check the battery level and number of exposures remaining.
Battery Level
Number of Exposures Remaining
The number of exposures remaining is displayed.
When a memory card is not inserted, C is displayed and pictures are recorded to the
internal memory (approx. 15 MB).
The number of pictures that can be stored depends on the remaining capacity of the
internal memory or memory card, the image quality, and the image size (A72).
The number of exposures remaining shown in the illustration differs from the actual
value.
